
BRUNSWICK | The 2004 G-8 Summit brought President George W. Bush and other global leaders together in Glynn County, catching the eye of the world and the U.S. Department of Justice.
When Justice Department officials showed up shortly afterward to survey county buildings and facilities for compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act, Glynn County Assistant Administrator Becky Rowell said she at first suspected the attention was due to the summit.
That turned out to be wrong.
“I asked, ‘Why us?’ It was completely random,’’ she said.
