Police Suspect Jahessye Shockley Was Murdered

On Wednesday Arizona police reported the biggest lead in the case of Jahessye Shockley, the five-year-old who has been missing for more than two months. Police believe the little girl was killed and that her body was dumped in a trash can before her mother reported her missing on Oct. 11.

"We're in what we believed to be the worst-case scenario from the beginning," Glendale Police Sgt. Brent Coombs said, the Associated Press reports. Combs reiterated Wednesday that the child’s mother is the “No. 1 focus.”

Expert: Hazing "Destroyed" Robert Championâs Muscles

A medical expert who reviewed the autopsy report of slain Florida A&M University marching band member Robert Champion said on Wednesday that his muscles were so badly damaged they resembled what is commonly seen in such events as car accidents, prolonged seizures, child abuse and torture.

Dr. Howard Oliver, a forensic pathologist who is a former deputy medical examiner in the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, told CNN after reviewing the autopsy findings:

Bernhard Goetz, a 45-year-old white man, shot four Black teenagers on a New York City subway after they surrounded him and asked for $5. Three of the boys would recover, but one would be paralyzed and suffer from permanent brain damage. Goetz fled the scene, but turned himself into authorities nine days later. He was charged with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and several firearms offenses. He was found him not guilty of all charges except for one illegal firearms possession count.
